Patti is excellent. I am a nurse with a job-related lower back injury that flares up regularly and I have seen countless massage therapists over the past decade. Before her, I always entered a massage with pain and left relaxed, but still in some pain – and I have had massages that made the pain worse. Patti is the first practitioner whose treatments have made a difference in my long-term comfort and mobility. AND she accepts insurance!
She is not your typical “relaxation-focused” massage therapist who works swiftly and gently from head to toe to ensure you leave in tranquil bliss. Her focus is injury treatment, optimal muscle and body health, and she’s an expert. She focuses her time and attention on the interrelated muscle groups at the core of your specific issue and works the muscles out of their problematic patterns toward sustained healing (e.g., hips that are too tight and thus pull the lower back out of alignment).
And, her treatment doesn’t just begin and end with massage; I typically leave her office with a new stretch or yoga pose to practice that will support long-term impact of the work she has done. I thought it was relaxing to have my body slathered with oil, listen to “typical” massage music, and have every muscle covered. And, although those kinds of massages may have been a stress-reliever, let me tell ya, there is no relaxation like the kind you have when you are pain free! Patti is a miracle-worker!
